ThermaRoof is a green roof system that provides drainage, protection and insulation in one easily installed composite. ThermaRoof will easily double the life span of a conventional roof, provide exceptional drainage, insulate for sound and heat, and keep buildings cool in the summer, all while providing a fantastic home for plants and vegetables. One product can really do it all!
In the summer, green roof systems shade the building from solar radiation and, through the process of evaporation, can reduce, if not eliminate any net heat gain. This, in turn, helps to cool the surrounding area, and decrease the amount of energy required to cool the building. In the winter, the additional insulation provided by ThermaRoof helps to decrease the amount of energy required to heat the building.
ROOF MEMBRANE PROTECTION AND LIFE EXTENSION
Green roofs help to protect roofing membranes from extreme temperature fluctuations. TheramaRoof will easily double the life span of a conventional roof, and thus decrease the need for re-roofing and the amount of waste material bound for landfill, in addition to the recycled materials used in our green roof system.
Green Roofs and our ThermaRoof composite can be designed to insulate for sound, with the growing medium, and foam blocking lower frequencies of sound, and the plants blocking the higher frequencies.
Toronto’s Eco-Roof Incentive Program
Help reduce energy use, manage storm water runoff and beautify Toronto!
Toronto’s Eco-Roof Incentive Program, launched in 2009, is designed to help Toronto’s business community take action on climate change, and make buildings more sustainable. The Green Roof Bylaw requires green roofs on new and existing residential, industrial, commercial, and institutional developments with a minimum Gross Floor Area of less than 2,000m2 and Toronto Public and Separate School Board buildings of any size. Eligible green roof project applications can receive $75 / square metre up to a maximum of $100,000!
ThermaRoof drainage composite is designed to support the growth of vegetation for the purpose of water and energy conservation.
Applications are currently being accepted for Green Roof projects, we can help you apply today!
Performance criteria for the Eco-Roof Incentive Program are consistent with the Green Roof Bylaw and the Toronto Green Standard. The Eco-Roof Incentive Program provides funding for existing buildings, and new buildings not subject to the Green Roof By-law.
